Floyd: I'm the true superstar
FLOYD MAYWEATHER JNR has stepped up his war of words with pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao.
Mayweather believes Pac-Man has no right to the crown he effectively relinquished by retiring after his win against Ricky Hatton in December 2007.
Pacquiao has established himself as the best fighter on the planet in Money's absence but the undefeated American is determined to set the record straight.
He said: "I'm not saying Pacquiao's not a good fighter and I'm not saying I'm the only star in boxing.
"There are other stars in boxing — but there's only one mega-superstar."
Mayweather, 32, makes his comeback on Saturday night knowing a win against Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas could open the door to a lucrative showdown with Pacquiao.
And he is determined to prove he still has what it takes to beat anyone put in front of him.
Mayweather added: "After I had time to rest and enjoy life with my family and friends, I started to miss the competition and my fans.
"I don't worry about no fighter — fighters have to worry about me. I can adjust and I can adapt against anyone.
"People seem to forget, I fought Hatton when he was undefeated and I laid down the blueprint for how to beat him."
